I hope you all had a wonderful celebration giving a send-off to the year 2020 and marking the beginning of a brand new year into our life! Happy 2021 to all of you! Probably at this time of the year, we will be either making plans on how to achieve our goals, or working out different strategies to balance work and personal life, etc., but what I am looking forward to in 2021 is very simple but I guess, it’s an important decision for me to live in the present moment….and not to worry about what and how I’m expecting the 2021 to be! Yes, if given a chance any day, I would want to live outside of COVID-19, pre-March, or on the other side of these moments, but unfortunately we feel powerless there. Isn’t it? I can make many wishes, and live with glimmers of hope that everything will return to normal [or at least close to it!] in 2021, and our life will go back to where we left off, before everything moved indoors [from home] and behind the masks, and started feeling limited. I keep reminding myself that ‘feeling better’ and/or feeling happy is my choice, no matter how difficult the situation is!
Today is the just the fifth day of this new year. Do not feel bad if you did not start it well, or if you could not live it by the promises you had made it to yourself on the first day of 2021! We still have 360 days left to do our dreams, to achieve our goals, and to complete those resolutions on our list.
The year 2020 brought us together in anticipation of a better year ahead. We have pushed ourselves hard to live through the days of the year before. Let’s continue these memories [good as well as bad] into the New Year, and flip all the bad memories into good, because we can rise stronger together. The coronavirus pandemic is testing us to our core self, and we have already started adapting to this new normal, and have started accepting the changes that seemed hard at the beginning. Just like everything, this too shall pass. But important is to remember the lessons, this pandemic is teaching us!
I’m sure we will have a normal life again, and will be able to breathe air freely, will again see mask-free smiling faces, and renewed waves of optimism brimming with joy and good vibes all around us. Until then, let’s get comfortable [we already are getting closer towards accepting this new normal life. Aren’t we?] with the way the world is now!
Without further ado, let me share my plans and promises that I’ve made for the year 2021.
This year, I will take time to appreciate everything [that’s what 2020 taught me] and will pause before every choice/decisions I make! My goals, my dreams, intentions, hopes, and manifestations will only focus on my inner peace, gratitude, and progress.
This is what I am looking forward to in 2021.
- Appreciate the little things.
What we experienced last year gave me so many reasons to appreciate every little things in my life. I felt the need to love and appreciate every tiny bit of my life. I felt the gratitude to have food on our table, to be living under a roof, to be with the family, and our heartfelt prayers to be safe and alive, our efforts to share, to learn, to grow, to love, to connect, and to believe.
If I am asked to sum up my entire experience of 2020 in one word, it would be ‘appreciation’. Appreciating the everyday little things in life we usually take for granted so easily. Remember, to practice gratitude and appreciate the little things in life. This is the only way to “power protect” yourself through hard times.
2. To Make a difference in the lives of others by sharing light and hope, and to create a future without hate and unkindness.
Do anything you can to change a life, to flip change a negative thought/idea into positive, to inspire good change in the world, to bring a smile, to connect with others by simply listening to their stories, by appreciating every tiny efforts, by understanding that we’re all fighting our own battles secretly, and therefore we should be a little more kind and must care for one another. To put hope into action, and to live in hope, because the ‘power of hope’ is way greater than any obstacle you may be facing.
We have enough negativity and criticism in the world, let’s share our light from within and see the light out in the world.
3. To Simplify and declutter.
To simply get rid of the “chaos and clutter” in my life. This year marks the beginning of a new me, personally and professionally, therefore I have decided to purge everything that no longer serves my soul, or blocks my growth. This is hands-down the best way to tidy and declutter a space in our house, or to change some old habits that has kept us stuck in an unhelpful way.
4. To Cherish
The year 2020 taught us to connect with our loved ones and to make memories together. The year also taught me to cherish what I have before it’s gone- simple little things in life.
5. To Be Brave. And To Be Me.
I know my intentions are noble and clear, and therefore I’ve decided to lead my life by setting some more valuable daily intentions that can drive my life to spread more positivity and happiness in the world, like;
- I will work even harder to achieve my goals. But I will do it!
- I accept myself as an achiever and not as a failure anymore.
- I will always look for a positive reason in negative situations.
- I have decided to walk alone in my journey, to do my dreams. Nothing can stop me now!
- I intend to give my best today in everything I do.
- I will always believe I am beautiful, even with the flaws.
- I will not compromise on my inner peace.
- I will always work towards my self-respect and not against it.
- I will always remind myself of my accomplishments, and will remember to celebrate how far I’ve come, and will acknowledge how much I’ve grown!
- I will continue doing more of what I enjoy.
To make 2021 another great year, I have made 21 power promises to myself. In this post I have shared only 5, and the rest I’m going to share in a post on Fashion Potluck .So stay with me for the new post that’s coming this week!
I don’t know if 2021 will be better or worse than 2020, but what I know is that we are in this together. And we will definitely find our way out through this pandemic. I’m going to anchor myself to look for better things amidst fear and doubts, to make positive and healthy choices amidst confusion and chaos, and to hold on to the power of hope. I’m anticipating that in 2021 we will be more kind and tolerant. I am anticipating that this year will help us understand to value what we have, and we will be more accepting of each other in our personal life as well as at work. I am anticipating that I will make 2021 my next best year.

Great notes for the 2021. Living in the present and cherishing it is so important. It is also important to cherish our loved ones.
