‘Kindness’ has always been my most favorite word after inspiration. This is something we need to grow in every heart on this planet. Let’s make this a purpose this World Kindness Day 2021.
A heart that is compassionate and kind can help change the world, can understand that, every human and their emotions are important, and can make this a better place to live for everyone. Would you agree? The simple gift of kindness is, “giving what we can.”
By nature I’ve always been a kind, gentle, and compassionate person. May be I was addicted being kind. I didn’t want to hurt people or say no; until I realized that people did not perceive me as being kind, but rather being a people pleaser. And therefore, they asked more of what I was doing. There’s a huge difference between people-pleasing and kindness. We need to stop being a people pleaser and learn how to be more kind towards ourselves [first] and others. This is what we need to grow, and I’m going to share in this post how we can make that happen!
“People grow when they are loved well. If you want to help others heal, love them without an agenda.” ~Mike McHargue
What I needed while growing up was more kind people around me, to be loved, to be heard, and acknowledged. Do you think you needed to hear this too? Can you relate? We all have that void inside us, some get over it and don’t think as a need to thrive and survive, while others long for this; wait everyday with this hope that people around them will turn more kind and accepting, and compassionate one day. The world will change, and we will change people changing for good.
The moment someone see, hear, and acknowledge you, your strengths, your qualities,, and your worth, and honor you, celebrate you despite your weaknesses and failings- that’s where the real change happens. The power of kindness in an unfair world can melt hearts, and can bring the ‘good’ change we’re all waiting to see.
I can think of no better way to make yourself better and the world than by being kind to even those who are left-right rude to you, and unkind all-the-time, by sharing your stories of random acts of kindness, by sharing books, videos, and podcasts to inspire others to see kindness as a strength; and not a weakness.
Even during the darkest times, the world is full of light.
There are so many people out there in the world who are trying hard to make a difference, to bring a good change, to lead their life with kindness and compassion, and to be an example of how being grateful and kind looks like. They are working hard to create a world with less hate and more love, with less pain and more inclusion and support. I’m trying hard too! I am nothing like them, but I feel my msall contribution matters too! Just being an individual with little or no experience, we can be change we wish to see around us.
Kindness is contagious, and the foundation of it begins with “being available.” Being available for someone to hear, support, love, to encourage and motivate them to move forward. When you show someone they matter, you create a positive space for kind emotions. It is because we all have a common need- to be heard, to be seen, to be loved, to be included, valued, and understood. Nothing else matters! Would you agree? At the end of the day, even the hardest challenge of life feels lighter, because we realize that we are not alone!
I keep reminding myself that, “kindness isn’t weakness,” and I want you to remember this mantra too! People who are genuinely kind, think this quality is their superpower. Kindness brings us fulfillment and joy. It is a great source of strength, that helps us build our resilience.
We all have bad days [that do not come notify us before coming], and we all need a little kindness to feel better. And kindness is the only medicine that can cure any kind of stress and illness. Throw a little kindness like confetti everywhere you go.
