Yay! Yes. Everything is finally opening. The quarantine life seems to be over now. The world looks like to be back to it’s life again. But, I don’t think the world was ‘temporary closed?’ It was just paused. And now I see how important it was for all of us to get this “pause” moment in our life; definitely not in a negative/suffering way; but instead in a more positive way!
Coronavirus certainly isn’t to be compared with the repercussions of taking things for granted in our life; but this global pandemic has definitely taught me how to adapt to changes that didn’t go according to my plan. Change is never easy, and it brings tremendous degree of stress along with it!
There are so many times in my life, I adapted to the changes around me! But this “new” life created by the global pandemic has helped me put some deep light on the areas I was neglecting all this while. Saying that; everything boils down to one most important aspect of my self-being is- “to focus primarily on my inner emotional health!” There’s nothing important for me quite at this time rather than being open to new changes, adapting to the new world we will be encountering in few days or weeks, and to monitor my stress levels, to not let fear paralyze me any time of the day, to stay hopeful, and to stay positive!
Let me retrace my steps when this virus outbreak hadn’t occurred! I felt I’ve enough time to do the things I wanted to do. There’s always tomorrow! But the virus outbreak, and a sudden unplanned disruption of life’s normal activities forced me to zoom in to focus on my goals and dreams more closely! I’m not a person who would sit down to write down her goals and objectives in the journal; but to satiate my wild fears of not-being-alive tomorrow, and therefore not-achieving-my-dream(s) made me navigate through the important priorities of my life and the reasons to start working on all of them immediately!
Tomorrow is never promised! Few weeks back none of us would have thought that our lives will turn out to be so different. Different in the way we will interact with others, different in the way we will shop, different in the way we will travel for work or leisure, different in the way we will work at office, and even different in the way we will step outside the house! Instead of worrying about what we wear and how we look, we’ll be more concerned if we are carrying our masks and gloves or not.
This inward journey of changes that’s taking place right now in this very moment is unapologetically enduring; to help us in aligning our actions with our thoughts about what we want in life! It is the time to discover our deepest purpose in life, to choose authenticity, and the time to create meaning in our life and work!
The world definitely seems to be currently locked in the grip of uncertainty! There’s more fear of losing the job than losing life! The very purpose of our life is at stake and we’re all waiting for this pandemic to answer those questions for us. “I’m [and I’m sure, so are you] eager to find those missing pieces of my life and to recreate meaning by searching for ways to reconnect with the world that’s inside me and outside my bubble!”
As humans, it is necessary that we have meaning in our lives; whether it is through our work, relations, or the way we share our “stories” with the world- through art, music, expression, interests, and hobbies!
“Meaning is an anchor that connects us to the world!” ~Read it somewhere. And this “pause” helped me to recreate that meaning [for myself] in the midst of growing shadow of despair, that have engulfed almost all of us! We’re feeling more lost than ever, and while we’re searching our way out to connect those missing pieces of meanings in our lives, it is important to find connections, and to be present. Worrying about uncertainty and the future will only rob us from our happiness. And this is how I’m finding my purpose and connection in the pandemic. It’s also true that by making meaningful connections and by helping others we can get through this crisis together- in a more resilient way!

Please remember: “That in the face of a crisis or tragedy; finding a sense of purpose can play an important role in your recovery. This might mean becoming involved in your community, cultivating your spirituality, or participating in activities that are meaningful to you.” ~ Very Well Mind
I’ve gone through stages as I’ve been stuck indoors. At first I did a lot of writing, but that suddenly dried up for me. I brought in some lilacs, which really made me smile, and had a zoom meeting with my extended family. But through it all has been a lingering sadness that my son is 8 hours away, alone in his apartment and I just SO want him here.
Hi, Karen! I can totally understand your fear and the emotions you’re having right now! This global pandemic has made us so weak and kind of powerless, in a sense of worrying about life, future, relationships, and everything else in between! Its definitely not easy to stay motivated and positive amid this stress. But still please stay hopeful that everything is going to be fine, and we’re safe in the hands of God. My prayers and best wishes. Please take care. It was so nice to have you here!
Hugs,
I understand how you feel, it’s asituation so different and new to everything we’ve experienced before.. But we have to stay positive, keep in mind that nothing lasts forever so take care!
xx
You are so right. Tomorrow is never promised to us. I hope this whole epidemic will at least teach us what really matters. I love your doodle art.
