Mental wellness refers to awareness, understanding, and acceptance of your mental state or mental health condition and the ability to deal with changes and challenges. A rise in your stress level can cause severe complications to your mental state of being. Therefore it is very essential to keep your stress-levels in check mostly during these unprecedented times. Try these tips to keep your balance or to re-balance yourself.
Mental health refers to the way you feel about yourself, how well you understand your feelings, and deal with life’s challenges, that is in short, your overall psychological well-being. It is very important to understand our deepest feelings and emotions, the neglected parts of ourselves in order to maintain a good mental health condition.
In order to boost your mood, and enjoy life more in any given situation, it is important to keep these suggestions in mind. I hope these tips help you to navigate the complexities of life, relationship, health, and wellness with much ease.
- Take care of your body
Many believe mental health care is nowhere related to tending to your body needs. No, that’s not true! Wellness focuses on you body, mind, and soul’s needs. It’s the interaction between your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The physical health is directly connected to your mental state of being as well. What you are experiencing in your body-inside as well as outside will convey the message to your brain to act accordingly. Suppose you’re low in energy, not hungry, or very tired today, etc. will influence your brain about how you feel and think today, and you may end up feeling agitated, lazy, anxious, or confused and angry.

2. Work your strengths
Focus on the things that you are good at. Take new challenges and tackle them all by yourself to boost your self esteem and self-confidence.
3. Make mindful connections
Meaningful connections are so important for our mental well-being. Be in the company of people or friends who make you feel heard, visible, important, inclusive, and stress-free. Healthy relationships create good feelings, and when we feel better, our mental health improves automatically.
Here are some tips to mindful practices to deepen your connections:
- Pay attention to listen deeply
- Take a mindful pause especially during conversations
- Stop your mind from judging and making conclusions, and just accept
- Be honest and authentic. This builds trust in others
- Be kind to yourself and you will learn to be kind to others too
- Be fully engaged and interested in other person and the situation
- Choose how you want to respond- very important!!
- Open up and be vulnerable
4. Plan your outfits for the week
This is one of the most doable stress free tips to organize life. In order to have a firm foothold in the chaos and to prepare for each day with peace and control in the exploding pace of modern life, it is necessary to put your clothes together at the beginning of the week.
One of the benefits of wardrobe planning is the extra time you get from preparing ahead of time! Instead of having 1-2 hours in the morning to do all of your morning routine, you can take your time on a weekend or free weekday evening getting the perfect looks together. No rush and no stress! A perfect way to prepare your outfit according to the weather as well as to look stylish and polished at the same time.
5. Practice to Forgive
“Forgive what you can’t forget.” I live by this powerful quote [reminder]. To forgive someone is not at all easy, especially if you’re hurt by someone. But I remind myself each day; after each incident that hurts me badly, breaks me, and/or steals my happiness and peace, that forgiveness is the act by brave souls, and not everybody will have the courage to do so. But I’m doing it for my well-being and my better self, and nothing is more than that.
Forgiveness can have a positive impact on your mental, physical, and social health. It’s not always easy to forgive someone, but it can bring you a great sense of peace and closure. By deciding to forgive, you have decided to move past the pain others caused you.
Try not to pressure yourself to forgive immediately. Give yourself permission to feel hurt and work through your feelings of resentment and hostility. Forgiveness is about making a conscious decision to move forward and letting go of the pain.
6. Take a walk outdoors every day
Being outside for 20 minutes can help improve your mood and well-being. Walking outdoors scientifically improves your wellness. studies show that spending just a little bit more time outside can do wonders for our physical and mental health.
when you walk outdoors, your senses become engaged, and you disengage from all negative emotions, pain, and unhealthy thoughts. You find clarity and a new approach to deal with your problems. It has a calming effect on your body’s fight-or-flight response. It interrupts the cycle of negative thoughts.
Moving our bodies in nature also seems to quiet the part of our brains that gets stuck on sad or negative thoughts

7. Go out to shops, malls, or explore your town all by yourself or travel more
Don’t get intimated by the crowd and people. Make eye contacts, smile at strangers, do something kind for someone when you are at a store, in a cafe, or in a restaurant. Take yourself out on a “solo date.”
Traveling and exploring your own hometown or city that you live in (or one that is nearby) is a gift that can change your life. Traveling somewhere new is a beautiful gift that you can give to the soul. Explore restaurants and if you can’t afford the pricier restaurants, go find some local ones and or the ones that seems to fit in your budget.
Go for some minor window shopping, or just explore the kind of things they sell locally or in the malls. Take yourself to coffee or ice-cream dates. Find fun things to do all by yourself, and you will be surprised to find out your “best-self” by being alone or amidst strangers, because exploring the unknow is what braves do. Go beyond your fears and self-doubts, because you are more than you know about yourself.
